According to a recent Page Six report, renowned facial plastic surgeon Dr. Barry Weintraub has revealed an unexpected trick for administering Botox:

gently tilting patients so they’re nearly upside down during injections.

Why the “Upside Down” Approach?

Dr. Weintraub’s technique centers on adjusting the treatment table so that patients are tilted head-down. By encouraging blood to flow away from the injection sites, this unconventional approach minimizes trauma to delicate blood vessels, drastically cutting down on post-procedure bruising. The result is a smoother, more natural-looking outcome—without the telltale signs of recent work.

“It’s important because many people complain of bruising when they get Botox. And if you move the treatment table to a position where your feet are a little higher than your head, the blood will go all the way back down to your forehead and the veins pop out right at me. I can see them and therefore avoid them,” stated Dr. Weintraub.

He clarified, “In a normal position you can’t see them, and that’s why people bruise.”

2025 – Trending Towards the Natural Aesthetic

The trends in modern plastic surgery have shifted toward a more natural and conservative aesthetic, with patients increasingly opting for smaller breast implants, more judicious use of Botox and fillers, and subtle refinements rather than dramatic transformations.

In Dr. Barry Weintraub’s New York City practice, this less-is-more philosophy is evident in procedures that focus on maintaining harmony and balance rather than drawing immediate attention to a single feature.

For example, rather than placing oversized breast implants that dominate a patient’s appearance, he prefers selecting implants that blend seamlessly with the individual’s proportions, allowing the face and overall figure to remain the focal point. This restrained approach extends to facial procedures as well; a subtle “tip lift” during face and neck lifts provides a gentle elevation of the nasal tip, enhancing the final outcome without appearing overtly altered.
